Abdul Qayyum Chaudhry
The true perspective linked with ground reality in IIOJK is required to be told to the world, as this occupied territory has once again been trodden to the dark age. Valley divulges an image of a prison, which has been shackled by the iron bars of Indian oppression and bullying.
As the sun rises over the wonderful, stunning and breathtaking landscape of Kashmir, ostensibly it may be easy to believe that all is well in the region but the shadow of brutality, violence and plunder committed by Indian forces is witness to the agony being faced by the oppressed Kashmiri generations who have grown up witnessing such insecurity and trauma. Apropos, this is the front on which President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has been raising his voice to stir the international arena against the foreseen danger of normalization of violence.
Spanned over the period of four years, where India’s unilateral malicious actions to consolidate its occupation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have been in full swing, it has been a sombre epoch that our Kashmiri brothers and sisters are living under a ruthless military siege.
Indian forces black actions in today’s era, aimed at converting the Muslim majority into a minority in IIOJK, are utter violation of UNSC resolutions, UN charter, UN declarations and International laws as well as the 4th Geneva Convention.
To counter the Indian agenda, schema and narrative, the President AJK Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry is the lone eminent and populist Kashmiri leader who can muster hundreds of thousand of people on a single call, to organize remonstration rallies, processions and demonstrations in almost all the metropolises of the United Kingdom, United States and European countries and beyond; with or without any government appellative designation.
Undeniably, recent past is testimony to the fact that Barrister Sultan’s resolve to indorse, promote and project the justful Kashmir cause in its factual standpoint, so as to expose Indian fascism in the valley before the world, has rung alarms of deep concern in Indian circles, as discernibly manifested through headlines of international media. Conversely, India does not want to let the world know regarding the “dark side of her designs of suppressing and brutalizing its minorities at all levels”.
In the capacity of being a diplomatic and de-fence analyst, after meeting with the veteran Kashmiri leader, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry in person on plenty of occasions; getting through the international print, electronic news media, journals and magazines as well as by casting a brief look into his struggle weaved in the local and foreign academic circles’ annals, it was not difficult for me to establish the fact that the AJK President Barrister Sultan is not only an enchanting personality but is also an illustrious and distinguished politician of Azad Kashmir who is rendering his unparalleled services to apprise the international community regarding the tenacious annihilation, carnage and gross human right violations committed by nearly a million Indian troops deployed in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Unassailable, sundry prominent national and international writers have acknowledged Sultan’s role as the namable leader due to his strenuous, sustained and assiduous struggle for the righteous Kashmir cause. On same if any of the reader of this article is eager and interested to know about the Barrister Sultan’s intensified efforts and struggle for the Kashmir cause across the globe are entreated to search my online article published in a widely respected English Newspaper titled “Barrister Sultan’s Political Struggle”.
Pakistan’s candid proposition for extended pa-trolling by the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) along both sides of the Line of Control has been curtly refuted by India due to her malignant designs. Despite numerous attempts, India continues to deny access of Jammu and Kashmir, to the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights and other UN agencies as well as various humanitarian organizations and international media.
Instead of reciprocating the Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability, India has unleashed the worst form of state-terrorism to break the will of the Kashmiri people and crush their legitimate struggle.
It came as no surprise to anyone observing the Modi government’s policies in Occupied Kashmir, when the BJP took a U-turn on the government’s Kashmir policy on August 5, 2019. Putting Hurriyat leaders in jails, establishing false cases against them, strengthening Kashmiri Hindu Pandits politically and economically, and martyring young Kashmiris in fake encounters were all deliberately planned actions.
India state on the one hand has intensified its brutal repression in the valley of Kashmir, while on the other hand, has launched a massive multi-front; legal, political and cultural offensive against the Kashmiris people to change the region’s political landscape through a controversial delimitation process. This is sheerly yet another attempt to marginalize the Muslim majority, reducing its role in the decision-making process and thereby tilting the balance of power in favour of Hindu majority Jammu region.
As the date for election in India is drawing nearer the shameless Modi government would go to any extent to win the next elections to woo the Hindu voters. India has been using its judiciary’s verdicts as a tool to punish intrepid Kashmiris, as under this garb Indian authorities have issued fake domiciles to over four million Hindus hailing from different parts of India. Under the guise of so-called investment, the BJP has allotted land to 4,000 Indian investors in the valley. Redrawing of the electoral map and reorganization of constituencies by the government is meant to plinth the space for a Hindu Chief Minister in the occupied territory, so that it could lend legitimacy to the actions it had taken on and after 5th August 2019.
A time has come that the world organizations which account themselves as so-called champions of human rights i.e. the United Nations including peacekeeping bodies can no longer make them-selves oblivious of the fact that Kashmir conflict between two nuclear-armed states has the potential to ignite the flames of war at any time. Evidently, the Kashmir issue is becoming a threat not only to the region but also to world peace.
However, by using all means of coercion, crackdown and clampdown; India had miserably failed to break Kashmiris resolve and their voice for freedom struggle as defeat of Indian agenda is the writing on every wall. The day is not far when the people of Kashmir will be free from the yolk of Indian occupation Insha’Allah.
