India’s aggressive rhetoric

THERE is no end to the Indian aggressive and vitriolic rhetoric against Pakistan. Addressing an event in Ladakh, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh once again resorted to irresponsible and unwarranted remarks when he boasted of being ready to cross the Line of Control (LoC).

In fact it is not the first time that an Indian leader has made such a reckless statement as in the past also we keep hearing such remarks emanating from India. In the days ahead there is a likelihood of an increase in their intensity as the Lok Sabha elections are due next year and the Indian leaders, especially those belonging to the ruling party, will surely use their tried and tested mantra of Pakistan bashing for electoral gains. But before being hoodwinked by their leaders once again, the Indian voters should not forget the whole drama created by the Modi junta around the Pulwama incident to malign Pakistan to secure electoral support.  From the leaked messages by BJP and RSS-backed Indian journalist Arnab Goswami, it is now crystal clear that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in collusion with Indian Army, intelligence agencies and right-wing media, created a casus belli by orchestrating the Pulwama incident. The biggest beneficiary of the Pulwama attack was the BJP, as it resulted in its landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections following their virulent anti-Pakistan electoral campaign. It is time for the Indian voters to totally reject such elements in the elections. As regards the recent statement, we will ask the Indian Defence Minister to recall the dogfight of February 2019 when our Shaheens, in a matter of few minutes, shot down two of their fighter jets and also captured their pilot. If the Indian leaders are again considering an aggression under any pretext, the country’s armed forces with the back of the whole nation are capable of giving a bloody nose to them. The very provocative statements on the part of Indian leadership pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability and responsibility rests with the international community to take firm notice of them whilst rising above political and economic expediency.
