The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday issued a directive to seize vehicles found parked incorrectly in the provincial capital. The decision came during a hearing on a petition filed by citizen Haroon Farooq and others, seeking the court’s intervention to combat smog.
Justice Shahid Karim, presiding over the single bench of LHC, ordered an increase in fines for traffic violations in the city, emphasizing that heavy fines would serve as a deterrent to offenders. Additionally, the court instructed the traffic police to intensify their crackdown on motorcyclists who fail to wear helmets.
Addressing the issue of rainwater accumulation in the CBD Underpass, Justice Shahid Karim summoned the legal team responsible for the matter.
