PAKISTAN has been the main affectee of the Global War onTerror and footed the biggest billinterms oflives, property and economy. As a result of two superpowers landing successively in our neighbourhood, for their vested interests, peace of the region, especially of Pakistan got destroyed. The land of peace and serenity, whose folks were never accustomed to guns and narcotics, suddenly became the victim of the same. Our cunning arch rival India saw the opportunity and flooded Afghan border areas with her Consulates. India and all other hostile intelligence agencies pushed narcotics, weapons, explosives and terrorists across porous Pak-Afghan border. These terrorists first destroyed/made hostage the Tribal areas of Pakistan and then targeted the mainland.Atime had come when a few even talked about the possibility of these terrorists reaching Islamabad. No segment of society ie LEAs, students, common people, doctors, worshippers and noinstallationie mosques, churches, hospitals, schools, bazaars, etc were safe from their villainous acts. In Swat, the terrorists had almost established their parallel government and set up courts, whereas, people from various parts of FATA were virtually made hostage. The terrorists could strike any part of the country at will and were giving bloodbath to the innocent people on a daily basis. Our enemies were rejoicing and hoping the country to scum to terrorist agenda and ultimately collapse as a state, giving excuse to the world powers to fulfil their nefarious agenda. In an unprecedented feat the Armed Forces, with the nation standing behind them, routed out the terrorists from Swat, FATAand other parts of the country. In the process Pakistan suffered 80,000 lives, including 8,000 from LEAs and around 200 Billion Dollars financial loss. The determined operations by the Armed Forces routed the terrorists from the entire country and the remnants were forced to run for their lives. With the sealing off border with Afghanistan their freedom of crisscross movement was also checked. Pakistan has been blessed with one of the best geo-strategic locations, resilient people, beautiful landscape and wealth of natural resources. With such a vast potential Pakistan is bound to progress, provided peace prevails in the country. After a lot of sacrifices, the normalcy in the country and erstwhile FATA has returned, the people, who were displaced due to terrorist actions, have returned to their homes. The massive development work in the said areas by the defence forces has provided opportunity to the locals to resume their businesses and routine lives. The success of Pakistan againstterrorists and return of peace and stability was a great disappointment for all our enemies, asthey saw their dreams getting shattered. The trouble in Pakistan, especially in border areas with Afghanistan, is a prelude to the success of their nefarious designs. After the defeat of their paid Taliban terrorists the enemies of Pakistan were desperately in search of someone who could again disturb peace of the country and break the unity of the nation. They found the same in the shape ofManzoor Pashteen, his associates and PTM, who got all-out support from Afghanistan, India and from all their mentors. The PTM started in the garb of seeking justice for Naqeebullah, but soon turned against the defence forces and tried to divide the society on a linguistic basis. To please their masters, they openly abused the defence forces, who rid them from the terrorists with their blood, and projected Pashtun as oppressed community of Pakistan.Most of their hate accounts are operated fromAfghanistan and India. The raising of “Lar o Bar” slogan also gives the clues of their mentors and the nexus between them. The sensible people of Pakistan have already rejected them and their sponsored agenda, but they still continue to serve their masters. The PTM platform, since its inception, has been utilized to ditch Pakistan and save India whenever she runs into any difficulty. The Indian brutalities in the IoK and the turmoil in India, due to NRC, CAB and CAAissues, has put India in an embarrassing situation. The world’s criticism on human rights violations in IoK and internal problems in India, has put Modi government under immense pressure. Manzoor Pashteen has once again come forward to help his patrons by maligning Pakistan. When the FATF review meeting was about to discuss Pakistan’s case, PTM deliberately spitted venom against Pakistan. Similarly, during the successful visit of PM to the World Economic Forum and Pakistan’s successful diplomacy to expose the true face of India to the world, Pashteen and his associates/likeminded uttered nonsense against Pakistan and its institutions.Ashraf Ghani’s statement in support of Manzor is not only interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs rather exposes the nexus between anti-Pakistan elements andAfghanistan. The instant support which PTM got after its creation at various controversial international forums eg “SAATH Forum” etc, speaks by itself about its aims and objectives and linkages with anti-Pakistan forces. No country in the world tolerates the humiliation of its defence forces and vilification of its Constitution. It’s said that “one bad fish spoils the whole pond”, if such people are not stopped in time they, with foreign financial and moral support, have the potential to influence innocent public/youth. It’s high time that those, who are trying to divide the society and destroy hard-earned peace and stability of the country to divert world attention away from India, are reigned by the state before it’s too late. —The writer is freelance columnist.
