Play on cure of scourge of drugs, ‘Mera Ishq Vee tu’ staged at PAC Based on the cure of the scourge of drugs, the drama ‘Mera Ishq Vee tu’ was presented at the Punjab Arts Council (PAC) on Monday in collaboration with Aims Association.
The chief guests of the play included Naheed Manzoor and Director of Arts Council Waqar Ahmed. The play was written and directed by William Parvez. Zabar Sarhadhi, Ali Shan, Sofia Ali, Imran Rushdie, Rizwana Khan, Kashif Ali, Maimoona are among the famous artists of the play.
Addressing the participants, Naheed Manzoor said that the drug dealers are killers of the talents of the young generation; they are destroying and ruining the future of millions of youth. Troubled youths are made addicted to drugs by saying that it is a medicine to solve the problems. There is a need to take measures on an emergency basis to eradicate it so that future generations can be kept away from its harmful effects of drugs, she added.
Director of Arts Council Waqar Ahmed said that for the first time in the world, when a human being used to convey his message to another human being, the gestures, movements and sounds he used with his hands, eyes, face, and tongue were actually the world’s first theater. Theater is the name of thought, movement and dialogue. Thought, movement and dialogue are the nursery of evolution of human civilization and culture. If we all consider our responsibility and try to eliminate this evil, there will come a time when we will be able to rid the country of the scourge of drugs because staying away from drugs is the hallmark of a healthy society. A large number of citizens turned to the Arts Council to watch the play.
