Deputy Commissioner Umer Farooq Warriach urged upon Members District Peace and Interfaith Harmony Committee, Ulema belong of different thought of school and civil society to cooperate with district administration and law informant agencies for keeping peace in the district during holy month of Muharam to promote brotherhood, tolerance, interfaith harmony among people.
He was addressing the meeting of District Peace and Interfaith Harmony Committee held at district complex. SP Investigation and officers of different departments, Ulema, representatives of Christian Community, traders and civil society attended the meeting. DC said that in view of present situation in the county, foolproof security arrangements would improve to ensure protection of mourners and participants of procession and majalis of Muharram as well as to foil any conspiracy hatched by anti Pakistan and anti Islam elements.
He said that 139 processions would be taken out while 603 Majalis arranged in the district including 15 sensitive processions and 45 Majalis in the district. He said that CCTV cameras would be installed on the routes of processions and places for monitoring purpose while walk through gates would also be erected at entry points and no one would be allowed without proper search to join processos and Majlis.
He said that offices and officials of district administration police, health, Rescue 1122, Municipal Committees, civil defence and other departments would perform duties for security.
