Govt facilitates small industries’ partnerships with big corporations

The Industry Ministry has initiated a business meeting to help facilitate small and medium metal industries in establishing partnerships with large industries in an endeavor to improve their competitiveness, the ministry’s official said.

The business meeting had been held in Solo Raya, Central Java, on July 4-5, 2023, Director General of Small and Medium Industries at the ministry Reni Yanita noted in a statement received here on Friday.

This business meeting is a follow up to the memorandum of understanding forged among Cooperatives and Small and Medium Industries Ministry, Industry Ministry, and State-Owned Enterprises Ministry about partnership among cooperatives, and small, medium industries in the State-Owned Enterprises Supply Chain, signed on September 3, 2021, she said. The event was joined by 44 participants from 22 small and medium metal industries, and representatives of such big companies as PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, PT Yogya Presisi Teknikatama Industri, ATMI Group, PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Holding), PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), PT Indospring Tbk, PT Indoprima Gemilang Engineering, and CV Julang Marching Pratama.

Yanita remarked that her directorate general routinely hosts such events to ensure that small and medium industries can be productive and have competitiveness.

“Moreover, the partnership can push small and medium industries to be responsible in improving their (product) quality and quantity in a sustainable manner; adopt (better) management system; and develop human resources, information access, tech, permits, and others, as per their partners’ requests,” she elaborated.—Antara
