A delegation of Jafaria Alliance called on Mayor Karachi and Chairman KW&SB Barrister Murtaza Wahab and COO Water Board Engineer Asadullah Khan.
During the meeting the leaders of Jafaria Alliance urged them to take effective measures for water supply and drainage throughout the city before Muharram and all Mosques, Imam Bargahs, Majlis, Sabils & procession ensured elimination of all drainage complaints on the routes, during the meeting, the leader of Jafaria Alliance Shabar Zaidi, Chief Engineer Sewerage Aftab Alam Chandio, SE Syed Ajaz Ahmed and others were present, Mayor Karachi while giving instructions to the Water Board officials said that they should maintain their old traditions and provide better facilities to the citizens by completely eliminating all the complaints of water supply and drainage throughout the city before Muharram, and keep ring slabs and covers on all open manholes, so that citizens and mourners do not face any kind of problem.
While full cooperation should be given to all relevant departments, especially Shia Scholars and leaders of Jafaria Alliance, In addition to this from 1st of Muharram to Ashura Day by the concerned district administration, law enforcement agencies to meet the drinking water requirement of the public and at Mosques, Imam Bargahs, Majlis, Sabils & procession routes, necessary water tankers should be provided,COO Water Board Engineer Asadullah Khan said that during Muharram, all Superintendent Engineers will inspect their respective areas to identify Mosques, Imam Bargahs, Majlis, Sabils & procession routes.
While Executive Engineers along with their subordinate staff will be on high alert with Jetting and Suction machine’s, to deal with an emergency.
