Nasir Shah assigns emergency duties

Minister Sindh Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah says that citizens should be careful in view of the hurricane and do not leave their homes unnecessarily on Thursday and Friday. Minister imposed emergency in the Local Government in view of Cyclone Biparjoy and the officers and staff of Sindh Solid Waste Management (SSWMB), KDA, DMCs, KMC have been put on emergency duties.

He said in a statement that along with the work of removing billboards and panels from the city, is also continuing the work of removing billboards from the areas under the administration of DHA and Cantonment Boards, while also giving special instructions to remove the panels on pedestrian bridges and flyovers.

Minister directed the staff of DMCs and KW&SB and SSWMB to continue the arrangements to keep the sewage system running and cleaning of storm drains, added that the cleaning of storm drains is going on, the sensitive chokepoints of the city are being cleared, dewatering pumps have been installed at different places of the city.

Minister LG said that in view of Cyclone Biparjoy Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has issued orders to keep the entire administration of Sindh government on alert and the CM himself visited the city today and reviewed to remove billboards from different areas. Minister appealed to the people and said that citizens should be careful and not leave their homes unnecessarily on Thursday and Friday.

He said that the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and the Karachi administration have started the work of shifting the people from the damaged buildings of the city to safe places and should cooperate with the management of the residents of the damaged buildings.
