Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and President Muslim Conference has welcomed the consensus fatwa (decree) announced by ulema and mashaikh of all schools of Islamic thought and jurisprudence terming it a landmark ideological advance of the Jammu and Kashmir people. At this point of time when Kashmiris in India-occupied Kashmir are facing hellish circumstances wrought by the Hindutwa tailored BJP governtment in J&K this broadest consensus is a historic achievement which will push forward the self-determination right movement ongoing in the state, he asserted.
On Monday ulema and mashaikh at Srinagar issued a joint fatwa declaring haram/forbidden any cooperation by a Muslim with any activity launched by the RSS, Hindutwa, BJP and other such anti-Muslims outfits; Islam does not approve of siding with the anti-Islam activities and Muslims are forbidden to cooperate with such works or activities, the fatwa says.
Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan said that BJP India has turned life of people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a burning hell incacerating teenagers, women, rights workers, senior leaders of Kashmiri political and religious parties; in an urgent Tweet to UN Secretary General he urged quick intervention to save human lives from brutish treatment by occupying Indian government. Follolwing is the text of the consensus fatwa:
“Cooperation with the enemies of Islam is a grave sin and is a transgression against religion. That is why Allah has threatened those who commit such a sin with severe punishment.” “Cooperation with Muslims has the priority. It should be dedicated to the purpose of attaining the pleasure of Allah and realizing the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.”
“We all know the punishment that Allah has set for those who join hands with the enemy against their people and their countries. Allah Almighty says: {Have you not considered those who make allies of a people with whom Allah has become angry? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to untruth while they know [they are lying]. Allah has prepared for them a severe punishment. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.}” (Al-Mujadalah 58:14-15)
“The Almighty also says: {Allah forbids you not those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your homes, that ye should show them kindness and deal justly with them. Lo ! Allah loves the just dealers.? Allah forbids you only those who waged a war against you on account of religion and have driven you out from your homes and helped drive you out, that ye make friends of them. Whosoever makes friends of them (All) such are wrong doers.}” (Al-Mumtahanah 60:8-9)
Having cited the above verses, the Kashmiri scholars said, “Therefore, a Muslim should work for the interest of his people and his state. He should work to preserve his people’s potentials and resources and to allow justice to prevail.
