A delegation of Islamabad Industrial Association called on the Federal Finance Minister Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday at FBR Headquarters in Islamabad.
The delegation comprised Mr. Karim Aziz Malik, Senior Vice President (IIA), Mr. Usman Shaukat, Vice President (IIA) and, among others, Sheikh Amir Waheed.
The Finance Minister was accompanied by Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Finance, Mr. Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue, Mr. Ashfaq Tola Chairman Reforms and Resource Mobilization Commission (RRMC), Mr. Asim Ahmad Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, and other senior officers from the Finance Ministry and Revenue Division.
During the meeting, members of the Islamabad Industrial Association highlighted the difficulties of businesses in the federal capital territory.
They said that despite being a small city Islamabad is contributing to the national economy and is fast turning into the information technology hub of the country.
They said that with proper support from the Government the industry in Islamabad can grow and help create opportunities for employment.
The Finance Minister assured the delegation that the Government values contribution of the business sector in the national economy.
He stated that in the upcoming budget, measures will be taken to promote the both LSM and SME sectors.
He further emphasized that proposals from the business community are always given due consideration during formulation of Federal budget and all efforts are being made to present a business friendly budget.
