Shah Allah Ditta achieves milestone: No child is left out of school

Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain was informed on Tuesday that as per available data, all children in Shah Allah Ditta were enrolled in schools and there was no kid of school-going age left behind. The Minister was given this data during his visit to the Government Girls School in Shah Allah Ditta where he had gone to monitor the ongoing Enrollment Drive in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

While addressing on the occasion, the education minister appreciated that Shah Allah Ditta, one of the seveeal villages located inside Islamabad, had achieved the milestone.

He highlighted the importance of Zero Out of School Children (OOSC) Enrolment Drive which reflects government’s commitment to quality education as a crucial element for competing with developing countries worldwide.

He termed the enrolling OOSC critical for economic and social growth.

He also gave directions to speed up the enrollment process so that the targets could be achieved in light of the Government’s vision.

The federal education ministry has set a target that there would be no out of school kid by June 30, 2023.

Accompanied by the Additional Secretary Education, Mr. Salman Mufti, and esteemed officers from FDE, NCHD, BECS, PIE, NEF, PEIRA Page, JICA, Sang Preet, Sunbeams, Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain appreciated the efforts of all partners for identification and enrollment of OOSC.

He emphasized the government’s dedication to utilize all available resources in providing education to all, which is not only the basic right of every child but also an essential factor for national progress. Earlier, the education minister was also given a detailed presentation on the subject and was informed that around 3,500 children had already been enrolled in only two weeks and the same momentum was going to continue in coming weeks as well. Rana Tanveer Hussain also met the community members in field and appreciated their work in mobilizing the parents and children. He also emphasized that the high number of Out of School children in the ICT and all over Pakistan is alarming and needs extra attention and efforts. He discussed the action plan with all stakeholders and issued directions to complete the assigned task before the deadline. He also reviewed the statistics of OOSC uploaded on the Dashboard of PIE.

Directorate General of Basic Education Community Schools has collected the real time data of 2,500 OOSC during last week and has enrolled 2,241 children in newly established schools. We are committed to achieving the target to enroll 9,000 OOSC till 30th June 2023. BECs teams are continuously conducting the door to door survey and community mobilization to achieve the target, the officials told the minister.
