Keeping in view the instructions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Election Commission of Pakistan has taken a final decision that it will not make a demand to the government to release funds for the Punjab polls.
The decision was made during an important consultative meeting held on Thursday.
According to the ECP, the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan was clear and comprehensive, and therefore, no letters would be written to the Punjab government and finance ministry.
The sources said it was decided in the meeting that there will be no correspondence with the Ministry of Finance and the Punjab Government for releasing funds as the SC has already given clear instructions to the Finance Minister and Chief Secretary in this regard.
