A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Thursday shared their grievances with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the census.
The delegation comprised of Amin Ul Haq, Farooq Sattar and Javed Hanif, while Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ayaz Sadiq also participated in the meeting.
The prevailing political crisis and the census was discussed in the meeting. Despite PM Shehbaz Sharif’s assurances the correction orders in the census were not implemented, Farooq Sattar added. Sattar also gave a detailed briefing to the PM on loopholes in the census. Farooq Sattar said there was no staff in some places to conduct census and the residents of several buildings are counted as one.
If the census is not done properly in Karachi then the metropolis will not get the resources it needs. he Muttahida Qaumi Movement-P also advised the coalition govt to avoid a ‘clash’ with the judiciary. “We should not take any step that creates ‘clash’ with the apex court,” MQM-P ministers were quoted as saying during the meeting.
