Alternative Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Association (APHMA) General Secretary Naman Farooq has given his views on the performance of Directorate of Health & OTC Division (DRAP). Addressing a press conference, he stated that the performance of Health & OTC Division has been improved. Many detailed presentations have been given couple of times to DRAP CEO Asim Rauf and Health & OTC Director Dr Fakhar-ud-Din Amir. Dr Fakhar Amir has taken of the charge in a difficult situation, when huge pendency of Form-7 was the major challenge.
APHMA has requested to grant issuance of Form-7 of alternative medicine out of queue for major exporters. Dr Masood said that the homoeopathic pharmaceuticals Lahore were being victimized by non-issuance of Form-7 resulting in less export but now DRAP has considered their request, for issuance of Form-7 on fast track basis. A policy will be announced very soon.
Upon the request of APHMA, the DRAP has decided to change the FIFO system by adopting separate checklist for homoeopathic, nutraceuctials, & herbal/Unani products, will be uploaded on DRAP website. This will be helpful to manage huge pendency & issuance of Form-7 to alternative medicine manufacturer. Separate GMP guideline for homoeopathic, nutraceuctials, & herbal/Unani products, is also under consideration, upon the request of APHMA Chairman Dr Zubiar.–PR
