Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, President Muslim Conference and ex-Premier, has warned that the recently Sharda Corridor resolution tabled in the AJK Assembly smacks of territorial division of Kashmir as Indian media is already claiming it as part of their agenda. Both the AJK government and the Assembly must desist from falling into this evil conspiracy, he cautioned.

As per text of the resolution a highly strategic thickly jungled Upper Neelum Valley location, Sharda, statedly a holy site of Hindus is to be opened via a corridor to Indian Hindus. Indian media is clamouring that this move is part of their agenda.

SardarAttique Khan said that his party present in the AJK Assembly rejects this resolution being what he called anti-Kashmir cause move that also gravely damages Pakistan’s Kashmir case. He said that his party has been favoring promotion of religious tourism in the J&K state but this ShardahPeeth corridor is clearly an intrigue and no one should prey to this trap; he urged AJK government and the Assembly to immediaely reject this resolution and asked government of Pakistan to take all stakeholders – AJK govt, assembly, APHC – into confidence before making such a move like this of highly sensitive nature.

Any measure that denigrates the sanctity of over 600,000 Kashmiri sacrifices in the way of Kashmir struggle would be deemed unpatriotic meriting complete rejection, he explained.
