Police nabs eight, including two POs

The district police claimed to have arrested at least eight suspects, including two proclaimed offenders involved in robbing a citizen by impersonating government officials at a home in WahCantt area. According to the press release issued by the CPO office on Thursday, the wanted criminals had committed a robbery at a citizens house while pretending to be government officials in 2017.

The criminals were identified as Usman and Wali and were shifted to jail for an identification parade. Police have registered separate cases against the arrested accused while further investigation was in progress. Appreciating the WahCantt police team, SP Potohar Muhammad Waqqas Khan said that criminals would be charged with solid evidence and vowed to take strict action against such anti-social elements.

Meanwhile, the same district police claimed to have arrested eight illegal arm holders and recovered arms, and ammunition from their possession during a crackdown.

According to the details, Taxila police recovered a30-bore pistol from NaseemGul and a30-bore pistol was recovered from officer Ali. Similarly, Mandra police recovered two pistol of 30-bore from Taslim whileSaddarBairunipolice recovered a30-bore pistol from Bilal.

Following the operation, Rawat police recovered a30-bore pistol from Hamza and a30-bore pistol from Tayyab. KalarSyedan police recovered a30-bore pistol from TayebMahmood and a30-bore pistol from Waqqas Tariq.

The police have registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation was in progress. SSP (Operations) Captain (retd) Aamir Khan Niazi appreciated the performance of police team said that crackdown against those possessing illegal weapons will be continued.
