Former Prime Minister and Chairman PTI Imran Khan on Monday approached Lahore High Court to challenge the ban on his live speeches to telecast imposed by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
The petition was filed by his counsels Ahmed Pansota and Ishtiaq A Khan who claimed that the PEMRA notification was in violation of Article 10(A) of the constitution of Pakistan which gives freedom of expression to every citizen of the state. The Imran Khan Counsel maintained that PEMRA has banned Imran Khan at the direction of the government. He termed all the PEMRA allegations baseless and they have no authority to ban an individual from the live broadcast.
