A two-day international conference on ‘Trends and Challenges in Health Sciences’, organized by the Punjab University’s Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), concluded here on Sunday.
Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation Prof Dr Shahid Baig, CEMB Director Prof Dr Kausar Malik, eminent scientist from the US, Japan, Taiwan, faculty members and eminent scientists from different prestigious institutes of Pakistan were present.
In his address, Dr Shahid Baig applauded the progress made by the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology in health sciences and said that the Centre had always been on the forefront in the field of molecular biology.
Dr Kausar Malik thanked Prof Dr Shahid Baig and other participants for joining the conference.
In the poster competition, among the 35 presenters, Noor Fatima from Panjwani Centre International (Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences), University of Karachi, won the first position; Mubashra Inam from Kinnaird College for Women and Sana Khawer from Dr. A. Q. Khan Institute of Biotechnology And Genetic Engineering (KIBGE), University of Karachi, won the second and third positions, respectively.
Later, souvenirs were presented to the participants and organisers.
