Sindh Literature Festival set to begin on March 3

The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi is going to organise the sixth edition of Sindh Literature Festival next month.

Speaking at a media briefing, Council’s president Ahmed Shah said that the three-day festival would begin on March 3 and continue till March 5. Accompanied by writer Noor Ul Huda Shah, Dr Ayoub Sheikh, Naseer Gopang and Zohaib Kaka, Mr Shah said: “For the last three years we have been organising the Sindh Literature Festival at the Arts Council.”

Noor Ul Huda Shah said that it was heartening to see the participation of young generation in the festival. Dr Sheikh and Mr Gopang while briefing journalists about the event said that this year’s theme of the festival was “climate change”.

They said that the Sheikh Ayaz centenary celebrations would also be held in the festival. A recital of young poets, literary sittings and discussions on various topics and many more would be part of three-day event.

This is not Sindhi Literature Festival but Sindh Literature Festival and people will find all languages including Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki, they said, adding that there would be sessions on transgender persons, International Women’s Day, IT start-ups, etc. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will inaugurate the festival on Friday at the Auditorium No 3 of the Arts Council.
