Karachi Kings have suffered a huge blow ahead of their match against Multan Sultans as Mohammad Amir has been ruled out with an injury.

The pacer reportedly suffered a groin injury during his team’s win against Lahore Qalandars.

Karachi Kings are hopeful that the injury is not serious and that Amir will miss just a single game before returning for their reverse fixture against the Sultans. The 31-year-old will stay in Karachi as his team travels to Multan and continue his rehab.

After a few lean years, Amir returned with a newfound belief in his bowling during Pakistan Super League season 8. He has so far claimed 4 wickets in as many games at an average of 26.75 and a strike rate of 21.00.

Despite off-field criticism, he remains a key cog in Karachi’s hopes of making the knockout stages of PSL 8.

Karachi Kings, meanwhile, will take on Multan Sultans in their next game on February 22nd before welcoming the same opposition 4 days later at home to kickstart the final stretch of this year’s competition.

Imad Wasim’s side currently sits second on the league table courtesy of a big win over Qalandars but has played significantly more games than other sides.

A win over Sultans will do a world of good to their confidence but they have to somehow overcome Amir’s absence.
