Minister of State for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmad Khan Babar, has strongly denounced the August 2019 illegal actions by the Modi-led fascist Indian government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmad Khan Babar, flanked by Zabiya Qamar, MNA and leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, was addressing a news conference in Islamabad regarding Kashmir Solidarity Day.

He said through August 5, 2019 illegal moves, India is trying to change the demography of the occupied territory. India, he said, has also issued domicile of Jammu and Kashmir to non-Kashmiris. He said by changing constituencies and converting the Muslim majority into a minority, India wants to install a Hindu Chief Minister in IIOJK.

“Our policy must be consistent to counter these situations,” Iftikhar Ahmed said and appealed to the people of the country to massively participate in the Kashmir Solidarity Day functions. He also urged the youth to raise the voice of Kashmiris on social media.

APHC-AJK chapter Convener, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, on the occasion said that more steps should be taken to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. He said the amicable solution of the Kashmir dispute is imperative to end poverty in the region.

APHC-AJK leader, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, addressing the news conference said that the slogan, “We are Pakistanis and Pakistan is ours” was raised from IIOJK. He said the Kashmiris can be martyred, blinded and rendered homeless but their passion for self-determination cannot be suppressed.

Zabiya Qamar speaking on the occasion said Pakistan and India fought wars over the Kashmir issue, but war is not a solution to any problem. She said the international community should urge India to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue.INP
