Skills Development Department (NSSD) of National University of Technology (NUTECH )organized job expo in the University on Tuesday.
Rector NUTECH Lt Gen Moazzam Ejaz inaugurated the events while Heads of Departments, faculty members and large number of students attended the event.
Pro Rector in his address said that open house display is the regular feature but inviting various companies to facilitate the senior students to get jobs right after the completion of their studies. He further said that companies interviewed large number of students and the able ones will get jobs. He was of the view that it is the era of competition; students must have to diversify their skills to get good jobs.
At the end he appreciated the students for their innovative projects and hoped that NUTECH students will play proactive role in national development. It is worth to be mentioned that in open house there were 22 companies’ representatives participated.
During Job Expo, Rector NUTECH Lt Gen (Retd) Moazzam Ejaz , Pro-Rector Maj Gen Khalid Javed and DG Skills Maj Gen Raza visited and interacted with the company’s representatives. As NUTECH’s motto is “University for Industry”, the Job Expo aims to fill the gap between industry and academia by providing opportunities for students to interact with the Industry.
The event provided an opportunity for NSDD students to interact with actual industry partners and be aware of the corporate sector requirements. The students prepared their CVs and forwarded them to potential employers. Job Expo is held bi-annually at NSDD and the result has been encouraging with the majority of the students being employed after completing 6 months of courses at NSDD.
