Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) has been actively working for the last 40 years to save its countrymen from deaths caused by cardiac diseases and also helping the deserving people to undergo heart operations, especially children.
According to a spokesperson of PANAH, the association recently organized a fundraising dinner (January 28) and requested people to actively participate in this cause. The event was hosted by Col (R) Shakeel Mirza, Vice President PANAH. In his welcome speech, Col Shakeel called upon the participants to generously contribute to the noble cause.
PANAH Secretary General Sanaullah Ghumman on the occasion said during the last three years, PANAH supported the treatment including open heart surgeries of more than 500 children. Alhamdulillah 99pc of these children are now growing up to their full potential and enjoying life, Ghumman said. However, still there is a long list of deserving patients, who belong to poor families. There are currently over 140 children on the waiting list and our target for this year is 200 children, said Sanaullah Ghumman.
Each open heart surgery (including tests etc.) costs an average of Rs700,000 and this target can only be achieved with the financial support and patronage of sufferers like you.
President Maj Gen (Retired) Masood-ur-Rahman Kayani explained how the friends and institutions of PANAH supported step by step in this ongoing charity and stayed with us until the recovery of the sick children.
He also quoted a Hadith that whoever saves one life, saves the entire humanity. “We will continue to do this work of saving human lives,” he said.
He welcomed whoever wanted to join in the noble cause.
