Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has said that we welcome the Election Commission of Pakistan and the Chief Election Commissioner that they have assured after the hearing regarding the 6 seats that were taken away from us that according to Form 11 not only the results are correct. Rather, strict action will be taken against those who have carried out this action, the 6 seats snatched away on February 2 will be returned to Jamaat-e-Islami, and they will appeal for a recount on the remaining 11 seats as well.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Adara Noor-e-haq. Dr Osama Razi, Saifuddin Advocate, Soheb Ahmed, and others were also present on this occasion.
Hafiz Naeem said that Jamaat-e-Islami has got the most votes in Karachi and we have the most seats. In Karachi, the mayor will be from Jamaat-e-Islami. We are trying to create a consensus for the construction and development of the city. It is requested from the commission that in order to make the elections free and transparent on the 11 seats postponed due to the death of the candidates, Sindh government employees should not be appointed as ROs, DROs and presiding officers. Jamaat-e-Islami has established a cell in Idara Noor Haq regarding local body elections. If the members of any party need help to get the correct result, they can contact the complaint election cell of Jamaat-e-Islami. This cell will continue until the national elections are held.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further said that our demand is that the staff of ROs and DROs should be of Election Commission. The Election Commission has to bring it from Islamabad, bring it from Punjab or KP, but Sindh government employees will not be accepted. Army and Rangers should be appointed at every polling station so that people can cast their vote with confidence.
He said that we fought hard to get Form 11, how the Sindh government did its arbitrariness and increased and reduced the seats has come before everyone, there are 25 to 30 seats on which the government, ROs and DROs The results have been changed by force, carried to the ballot box from several places. We will also present our case in the tribunals where fake recounting has taken place; we will go to the tribunals.
