CJP, SC judges grieved over assassination of Abdul Latif Afridi

The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial and other judges of the Supreme Court have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the assassination of Mr. Abdul Latif Afridi, senior lawyer and former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

During a condolence reference held at the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBAP) auditorium on Wednesday, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial termed the heinous crime as a matter of grave concern and a huge loss as the Bar and Bench that are vital pillars of the judicial system. He lauded the late President SCBAP as a professional of the highest caliber and extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family, praying that Almighty Allah shower his blessings upon the departed soul. President of the SCBA, Abid Shahid Zuberi thanked the Chief Justice for expressing the desire to hold the condolence reference in order to pay tribute to Mr. Abdul Latif Afridi. The condolence reference was widely attended by the representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, Pakistan Bar Council, Supreme Court Bar Association alongwith the family members of the late President SCBAP.—INP
