Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Touqeer Ilyas Cheem has directed the district heads of all departments to start all necessary arrangements in advance to ensure holding of free and transparent elections according to the directions of the Election Commission of Pakistan and all departments are duty bound to implement instructions of the Election Commission of Pakistan whereas all officers be provide lists of officials of their concerned departments to Election Commission immediately.
He issued theses directions while addressing a meeting held to review preparation of elections and other arrangements. ADCR Abdul Rauf, Assistant Commissioner (Coordination) Ishfaq Ahmad and officers of other departments attended the meeting. DC directed the education officers to inspect their schools and submit review reports according to code of conduct of Election Commission and arrange missing facilities in the schools according to requirements of Election Commission. District Election Commissioner Hafizabad, Tanveer Ahmad Khan, informed the meeting that elections would be held for one seat of National Assembly and 3 seats of Provincial Assembly in the district
Meanwhile, Tanveer Ahmad Khan said that all citizens ensure registration of their votes in voters lists before issuance of election schedule by the Election Commission whereas voters lists would be seized soon after announcement of election schedule and no amendment would be made.
He said that candidates and voters were being informed that entry, correction and shifting of votes could be made before issuance of bye-election schedule for provincial assemblies of Punjab.
