A national seminar organized by Preston University paid glowing tributes to mark the 62nd death anniversary of the veteran leader of the Pakistan Movement and Founder President of All India Muslim League, His Highness Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III.
The reference was jointly organized the university and the Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan (AHAP).
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information & Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan was the chief guest on the occasion while among the noted speakers included Syed Fakhar Imam, Chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Kashmir , Raja Mujahid Afsar Khan, Chief of Dandot and President Tehreek-e-Takmeel-e-Pakistan, Dr Ghazanfar Mehdi, Chairman AHAP, Prof. Dr Riaz Ahmed, Secretary General AHAP, Dr Hussain Ahmed, Chairman Shah-e-Hamdan Society, and Dr. Abdul Basit, Chancellor Preston University. Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan was of the view that Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan was unambiguously a great leader of the Muslims of the united India, and it was he who, back in early 1900s, realized that the Muslims were being exploited by the Hindu majority in India.
