Senior Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal presided over the 92nd meeting of the governing body of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency at 90-SQA, in which a decision was taken to restructure the department to increase its efficiency. The restructuring model of the institution will be created with the support of the urban unit. The approval of the new housing scheme will be given only on the brown area shown in the master plan of each city. The senior provincial minister sought the detail of all assets of PHATA in every district. After reviewing the details of the assets, planning to put them into use will be done.
Senior Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal while addressing the meeting said that the concerned Regional Director will be responsible for the implementation of the approved residential schemes and action will be taken against the officers who neglect their duties. If the Regional Director will not work regarding the implementation of the approved residential schemes, will not remain in office. He said that after the approval of the residential scheme, it is the responsibility of the institution to implement it. Mian Aslam Iqbal said that low-cost housing schemes are meant to provide a roof to the homeless poor, so a transparent mechanism should be made to give the right to the homeless people.
