The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMAEA) welcoming the Prime Minister’s decision to set up committee to probe the causes of decrease in exports demanded that the officials of the associations of all export sectors should also be included in the committee so that concrete steps to be taken to remove the hurdles in export sector.
PCMAEA pointed out that huge increase in production cost and freight charges, fluctuations in the value of the dollar, lack of marketing opportunities and efforts to find new markets and unnecessary hurdles created by government officials in way of export are the main reasons behind the downfall of exports in Pakistan.—NNI
