Kashmiri freedom activist, Bashir Ahmed Wani alias Khaki Nasrullah, passed away on Wednesday in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Bashir Ahmed Wani had been unwell for last several weeks and breathed his last at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Muzaffarabad. His funeral prayers will be held at Narol Hockey ground in Muzaffarabad, today.
Bashir Ahmed Wani who hailed from Ganderbal district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was an uncompromising campaigner against India’s illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir. He had to migrate to Pakistan after continued harassment and victimization by the Indian troops for his affiliation with the Kashmir freedom movement.
APHC leaders have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Bashir Ahmed Wani. They said that he had struggled all his life for his people and their right to self-determination. They expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. They prayed for a heavenly abode for the deceased and conveyed their condolences to his family and well-wishers.—INP
