DC assures supply of fertilizer to farmers

Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad, Touqeer Ilyas Cheema has said that district administration committed to ensure provision of Urea fertilizer to farmers in abundance at official prices for increasing per acre wheat production whereas punitive action underway against profiteers and hoarders indiscrimination in the district.

He was addressing the meeting of District Agriculture Advisory Committee Hafizabad. Assistant Commissioner Rab Nawaz Chadhar, Deputy Director Agriculture Hafizabad, Fazal Rasul, President Kissan Board, Imanullah Chathah, fertilizer dealers, officers of agriculture and livestock departments attended the meeting. DC said that five lakh bags of Urea fertilizer was provided to growers in the district during last three months and all out efforts were being made to ensure availability of fertilizers to peasants in view of their needs.

He said that district administration had been recovered five thousand bags of urea fertilizers illegally stocked at different places in the district and six cases also registered against fertilizer dealers and shopkeepers to violate price list issued by the government in the district, so far.
