Six people die due to gas suffocation in Faisalabad, Okara

Three people died due to gas suffocation in Faisalabad, and as many died in another such incident in Okara. Police sources said that three people died due to gas suffocation. They added that the incident had taken place in Mithai Wala Chowk, Warispura, Faisalabad. The deceased were identified as Mazhar, Nafees, and Shabbir. Their bodies were handed over to Batala Colony police by the rescue teams.

The deceased worked in a bakery, and they had rented a room to reside. To keep their room warm at night, they burnt coal and died while asleep as the smoke emitting from the burning coal had caused suffocation in the room. In another such incident, three persons including two young twins died due to suffocation after the smoke filled the room they were asleep in.—INP
