As many as 11 couples tied the knot as per their traditional and religious rituals at mass marriage ceremony held at local marriage hall Sukheki Mandi town organised by the Bazam-e-Zakar Habib Sukheki Mandi.
Officer bearers of the organisation Nasrullah Bashir Sokhal, Iftikhar Hussain Pupu Sokhal, Sarfraz Ahmad Sokhal, Haji Maqsood Ahmad, Namat Ullah Virk, Malik Azim Awan, Kashif Mughal, Sheikh Tariq Mehmood, prominent host Mazafar Ali, Imran Lara, Azam Mughal, philanthropists, social, political, religious workers, relatives of couples and member of civil society participated the function.
The marriage processions were accorded warm welcome upon arrival. The grooms and their entourage wee welcomed by drum beating and shower of flower petals during the ceremony. The marriage was decorated very beautifully to reflect the festivity of the occasion.
The couples were given dowry and more than one thousand guests including parents of the couples, their relative were server lunch. Patron of the mass marriages, Rana Iqbal Togeervi told that there was no discrimination of caste and creed while selecting daughters. Our priority is to choose those who have been orphaned and poor, he said and added that not only given wedding gifts to couple but reasonable dowry consisting of daily used domestic items.
He said that mass-marriage ceremony was being organized 8th consecutive year since 2015 and with the financial assistance of philanthropists 75 girls of poor families have been gotten married belongs to Sukheki Mandi area so far.
The holding of mass marriage ceremonies in this era of materialism is not less than a miracle for the poor people and these ceremonies was a good omen which provides solace to the destitute. He appealed the well-to-do people to arrange such massmarriage ceremonies for people who cannot afford the expanses of marriages of their daughters.
