Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that all political parties need to sit together to solve problems.
Talking to the media on Sunday, he said that Parliament is the forum for legislation and election reforms. “Parliament cannot be ignored. There should be stability in the politics of Pakistan The opposition is also necessary like the government.”
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that all political parties have to participate together to support the economy. “We have to legislate and enforce the law. There are rules and regulations for accepting resignations. The law says that if a member resigns under pressure, I will not accept it.”
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that if they want elections to be fair and transparent, then whey should take part in the legislation.
“It is necessary that the assemblies should complete their term. Being a speaker I would like that every assembly completes its tenure. All politicians of the country are experienced. Everyone including Parvaiz Elahi, Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif should handle the issues with consensus.”
He cannot de-seat any member of the assembly until he is satisfied, therefore he asked the PTI members to come back to the assembly and participate. He added the opposition is as important as the government in the assembly.
“I request all political parties and people from all schools of thought that there should be stability in Pakistan’s politics now,” he said. NNI
