396 teams from 36 districts participated in tournament
The final match of the Punjab School Cricket Championship (PSCC) will be played between the teams of Lahore and Faisalabad today at the Gaddafi Stadium. PTV Sports will broadcast this match live. Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi will grace the concluding ceremony of the event as the chief guest.
Chief Secretary Punjab Abdullah Khan Sumbal reviewed the arrangement for the final match in a meeting at the Civil Secretariat. Secretary Sports, DG Sports Board, Deputy Commissioner Lahore and officers concerned attended the meeting.
The Chief Secretary asked the authorities to make best security and traffic arrangements for the final match of the championship. He said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) team, district administrations and provincial departments deserve appreciation for successfully organizing the cricket tournament.
The Chief Secretary also issued instructions regarding ensuring full utilization of the funds for sports activities allocated in the Local Government Department.
The Chief Secretary was informed that under the constitution of PCB, the cricket tournament was organized at the school level across the province.
A total of 882 matches were played during the School Cricket Championship started in collaboration with the Punjab government and PCB from August 28.
As many as 396 school teams from 36 districts participated in the cricket tournament.
