Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi has paced up its electioneering in connection with local government elections to be held on January 15, 2023 as the party’s Karachi chapter chief various neighborhoods in the Malir district of the city, here on Monday. The JI leader was welcomed at various prominent stops by the local community leaders, traders’ representatives and notables with rose petals and fireworks at some spots. He also addressed a family convention hosted by the local chapter of the JI.
Addressing the convention, the JI leader said that the issues in Malir are similar to the rest of the city. He held the Pakistan People Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement for the prevailing situation of the megalopolis — once known as the city of lights.
He said that the two parties only boosted corruption, fascism, incompetency and favoritism and as a result the city and the city were deprived of all the progress and development they had made in the past.
Engr Naeemur Rehman also lambasted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for failing Karachiites. He said that the PTI did nothing on the ground for the city despite the fact that they were able to do a lot. He added that instead of delivering, the PTI leadership opted to issue false announcements and fake packages that further shattered dreams of the citizens.
The JI leader shed light in detail on the contribution of the JI for the progress and development of the city, particularly during the tenures of JI leaders, Abdul Sattar Afghani and Nematullah Advocate, as mayors of the city.
