The Provincial Advisor and Pro-Vice Chancellor Nisar Khuhro has said that service terms of Army Chief used to be extended previously also and such an extension was granted by Nawaz Sharif, Peoples Party and others as well. Talking to media on the occasion of Convocation of Quaid-e-Awam University, he said the Supreme Court rightly pin pointed that the law relating to extension to Army Chief has to be amended and Army Chief was at an extension on the time being. According to him, the political parties have their own opinion about grant of extension to Army Chief.
As far as Peoples Party is concerned, it does not have a majority whereby it could change even a full stop or coma. When asked about soaring Oil, gas and electricity prices, Nisar Khuhro said this question should be put to some one also. He was of the view that oil prices are not as high as are being recovered. They are just minting money. He described FBR a failure and said see the dollar rate where it has gone up. He told a questioner that offer to MQM was made by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and their reply has come that they cannot go away from Imran Khan. Earlier addressing the convocation, pointed out that four universities were established in District Shaheed Benazirabad.
These came into being during the governments of Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari. He assured that efforts would be made to provide financial assistance for these universities. He said that Quaid-e-Awam university too was the gift of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. “I too was once a student of pre-engineering but could not become an engineer”, he recalled adding that however he became degrees awarder. Nisar Khuhro reminded that before 1970, there was only one college in Sindh but the vision Shaheed Z.A. Bhutto had, he promoted the cause of education and today girls were ahead of boys in amassing gold medals in education sector. He stated that Nawabshah has four universities including medical.
