Pakistan, he said, is passing through a critical phase and cannot avoid political wrangling especially when one-third of its territory was under water.

Sarwar said that all the welfare organizations involved in the Pakistan Development Network made it possible to provide one month’s ration to the flood victims and played their role by giving family packages of ration to more than one and a half lakh affected families.

He said that medical camps were also set up by Sarwar Foundation in the affected areas, which benefited more than 10,000 victims, while the series of medical camps is continued. He said that at present all our attention is focused on the rehabilitation of the flood victims but the government is nowhere to be seen in this scenario. Answering various questions asked by journalists, Chaudhry Sarwar termed the economic situation of Pakistan as alarming and added that Pakistan got the status of GSP Plus with great difficulty. It will take a lot of effort to maintain this status as next year the status would complete ten years and needed to be revived.

He said that GSP Plus is very important for the social and economic development of Pakistan. To various questions regarding Sarwar Foundation, Chaudhry Sarwar said that provision of clean water in backward districts, middle class education, medical facilities for the underprivileged are part of Sarwar Foundation’s journey.

He said that more than 2.2 million people are using the filtration plants installed by Sarwar Foundation on a daily basis while in the field of medical facilities, apart from free treatment in hospitals, Sarwar Foundation is taking steps like free medical camp for awareness and treatment of various diseases. While highlighting the future projects of Sarwar Foundation, Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar also told about the Miraj Khalid Sarwar Foundation College whose completion would provide quality education to our youth.
