The Vice Chancellor University of Okara, Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid, participated as Guest of Honor in the International Conference on Applied Zoology at the Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT), Rahim Yar Khan, and addressed to the opening ceremony. More than one hundred UO students and five teachers, led by Dr Saleem Khan, also attended the two-day event.
In his address, Prof Wajid regarded the conference as an important forum for the presentation and sharing of latest research and modern trends in academia. He told that such forums could be greatly helpful for academic collaborations and for the sharing of new knowledge, expertise and ideas.
He applauded the KFUEIT Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Suleman Tahir, for the successful organization of the global event. The other speakers included VC Quaid-i-Azam University, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, who was also the Chief Guest, the VC Kohsar University, Prof Dr Habib Ali Bokhari, who talked on food security, Commissioner DG Khan, Nadir Chatha, and Brigadier Rizwan.
Prof Muhammad Ali is the Founder and Patron-in-Chief of the Applied Zoological Society of Pakistan that organized this conference. Prof Wajid lauded his efforts for the society and the conference. Prof Dr Farhat Jabeen, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences at the Government College University Faisalabad, who is the Patron of the Society, also played key role in organizing the conference.
On the sidelines of the conference, Prof Wajid met the Commissioner and briefed him about the UO’s flood relief activities in the DG Khan region, especially their dengue awareness drive that was the first of its kind, according to the VC.
