Says setting free corrupts tantamount to treason

Former Prime Minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Imran Khan Thursday lamented that all those who mercilessly plundered the national wealth and caused irreparable losses to Pakistan’s economy for their vested interest were being set free and given NRO.
“All thieves are being released; Shehbaz Sharif and his son have been acquitted, corruption cases against the PDM leaders are being quashed. Khan said while addressing Public rallies in Mardan and Charsadda. In a tweet the PTI Supremo also condemned in strong words what he termed worst kind of torture on the senior party leader Azam Swati who was arrested Thursday by the FIA adding that has exposed the real face of the fascist regime. He also lashed out at institutions being instrumental in giving relief to the “corrupt rulers” and acting against his party leaders.
“Since the ouster of my legitimate government in April 2022 through an international conspiracy I have been saying that the coalition government rulers came into power for looting the country’s money and getting their cases disposed of. And my apprehension proved correct”. Imran said.
The PTI chief said whoever gives an NRO to “thieves” — the incumbent rulers and their accomplices are a “traitor”. Whoever they are, they should be ashamed. You are a traitor who is betraying their country.” Khan tweeted.
The PTI chairman’s remarks came after a special court in Lahore acquitted PM Shehbaz and his son, Hamza Shahbaz in a mega-money laundering case — almost two weeks after Islamabad High Court acquitted PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz in the Avenfield reference.
“If you think that you will be respected by torturing my people, then you are mistaken,” Khan said while berating the institutions. He asked them to be “embarrassed” by their actions.” Imran said in a reference to grilling his senior party leader Shehbaz Gill and Azam Swati. In an apparent reference to the institutions, the PTI chairman said that God hasn’t given the luxury to remain “neutral” when it comes to deciding between the right and wrong paths. “Ask your children about Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari. These two families have looted the country for the last 30 years,” the PTI chairman said.
