In association with a local Pharmaceutical Company, PharmEvo, Riphah International University (RIU) on Thursday organized the unveiling of “Rumi Wisdom Calendar 2020” at the university’s Al-Mizaan Campus in the garrison city.
Ambassador of Turkey Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul was the chief guest on the occasion while a large number of students, fans of Rumi and faculty of the university attended the ceremo-
ny.
Ambassador Ihsan Mustafa while commending the initiative of the RIU and expressed his pleasure that like Turkey Rumi enjoyed a huge readership and following in Pakistan too. Maulana Rumi is revered and read with the same devotion in both countries.
Turkish people consider Pakistan their second home, he said and both countries enjoy cordial relations. Relations between Turkish and the people of the subcontinent trace their history back to the days of Khilafat Movement.
RIU Vice Chancellor Dr Anis Ahmed emphasized that such event from a pharmaceutical company is rare and must be appreciated.
He also paid rich tributes to Rumi and his “Masnavi” that is considered a very thought-provoking, insightful book.
New calendars for the year 2020 were also launched on the occasion. Haroon Qasim Managing Director of the Pharma Evo and Deputy CEO Syed Jamsheed Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
The CEO of the company briefed the Chief Guest about ParmEvo and reiterated his company’s priority was community service from free online health services to organizing such literary and cultural events.
