Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has a large number of fleet through which the daily waste collection is being ensured across the city.
According to LWMC sources here on Thursday, currently the company has a contract with PSO and fuel is being provided to these vehicles through more than 150, PSO pumps in the city.
LWMC Chairman Atif Chaudhry briefed that the company is committed to provide best and transparent cleanliness services to Lahorites and in this regard special measures are being taken to ensure the transparency in all procedures and processes.
LWMC has decided to start in-house provision of fuel through Pakistan State Oil, he added.
In order to make this possible the number of pumps would be reduced from 150 to 06 which would be installed at LWMC’s workshops.
He said by providing fueling facilities at these 6 pumps, the monitoring mechanism would be improved.
He further said that the decision of in-house fueling was taken in the board’s meeting and open tendering would be done to bring fuel to these workshops.
The chairman further said that the company is strengthening the monitoring mechanism which would help in reducing fuel leakage besides enabling to save the several thousand liters of petrol.
