The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a clarification on the news item published in daily Dawn on 31st December, 2019. The FBR in its clarification has stated that Point of Sale System is applicable on all the big retail outlets of big cities. These outlets are mostly located in the big shopping Malls of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. POS System is applicable on all those retail outlets which have three or more than three branches. The published news item has given the impression that Point of Sale System is also applicable on small shopkeepers which is not correct. FBR has taken the traders community into confidence on the Point of Sale System. FBR is taking all such steps with the cooperation of the traders.
