The United Nations has made a new appeal for aid to Pakistan’s flood victims. According to UNICEF, about 3.4 million flood-affected children are awaiting immediate assistance.
Children caught in the floods are suffering from stomach ailments along with malaria and dengue. Mothers of flood-affected infants are malnourished and unable to breastfeed.
The World Health Organization has also warned that after the flood, there is a risk of another disaster in the form of diseases and deaths in Pakistan. Director WHO Dr. Tedros says that the World Health Organization will make a new appeal for help to Pakistan after the aid of 10 million dollars. —NNI
