The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday gained 10.48 points, a nominal positive change of 0.02 percent, closing at 42,011.82 against 42,001.34 points on the last working day.
A total of 156,581,804 shares were traded during the day compared to 118,511,503 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs.6.548 billion against Rs. 3.873 billion on the last trading day.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee continued to lose ground against the dollar for the ninth consecutive session on Wednesday, with the PKR sliding by Rs2.4 in the interbank market.
The local currency closed at Rs234.32 per dollar, depreciating 1.02 per cent from yesterday’s close.
