Ministers say overseas Pakistanis will be given the right to vote
Vice Chairperson Overseas Pakistani Commission Makhdoom Syed Tariq Mehmood Al Hasan met with Provincial Ministers Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan, Syed Yawar Bukhari, Samam Bukhari, Makhdooma Sonia Ali Raza, Ansar Majeed Niazi, Khadija Umar at the OPC office.
On this occasion, the provincial ministers briefed the issues of their respective constituencies about the problems faced by them. On which Vice-Chairperson OPC Makhoom Syed Tariq Mehmoodul Hasan said that numerous steps have been taken to solve the problems and protect the rights of Pakistanis living abroad on the instructions of Chief Minister Pun-jab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
OPC vice Chairpersons said that the applications and complaints presented in the Over-seas Pakistanis Commission Punjab are taken into consideration immediately and are dealt with without delay.
He said that the services of overseas Pa-kistanis cannot be forgotten for the strengthening of the country’s econo-my.
The provincial ministers said that it is a pity that the current federal gov-ernment has taken away the right to vote from overseas Pakistanis. By withdrawing the right to vote, overseas Pakistanis have been deprived of their legitimate right. He stated that according to the vision of Chairman PTI Im-ran Khan, overseas Pakistanis will be given the right to vote. He further said that Pakistanis living abroad are our asset. On this occasion, Vice-Chairperson OPC Makhdoom Syed Tariq Mehmoodul Hasan said that the Punjab government is committed to solving the problems of overseas Pa-kistanis.
The Punjab government will ensure the protection of the rights of overseas Pakistanis at all costs. Vice-Chairperson OPC Makhdoom Syed Tariq Mehmoodul Hasan while talking about the Fields Relief Fund said that fields for the ease of overseas Pakista-nis in OPC. A relief fund desk has been set up. On which information is being given to overseas Pakistanis 24 hours a day. So that during this diffi-cult time, maximum funds will be col-lected to help the flood victims.
