CRICKET match between arch rivals – Pakistan and India – is always special. Fans not only in the two countries but across the world always see it with great interest which makes the occasion special.
After facing defeat at the hands of India in the first match of Asia Cup, all eyes of Pakistani fans were on Sunday’s super four match of the tournament to take the revenge.
The Green Shirts did not disappoint their fans. Though initially the performance with the bowl as well as bat was a total disappointment but finally it was the magnificent batting of Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Rizwan that helped the Green Shirts seal the win but not without nail biting as the match finished with just one ball remaining.
Rizwan was out after his second successive half-century in the 17th over but Khushdil Shah, with his unbeaten 14, and Asif Ali, who made 16 off eight balls, made sure Pakistan got over the line.
Anyway, it was a great win and also brought smiles back home which is currently faced with the unprecedented catastrophic flooding.
Both the military and political leadership also expressed their joy on the triumph by extending congratulatory messages to the team.
However, there is no need to be complacent at all and the momentum of Sunday’s match should be taken forward in the upcoming matches as well, and the players must give their one hundred percent to clinch the Cup.
Other teams in the tournament including Afghanistan should not be taken lightly as they have given tough time to us in the past.
It will be a great final if played between the arch rivals, and many experts are already predicting this to happen.
We will also suggest that keeping in view the performance of players in Asia Cup, the team for the T-20 World Cup, to be held next month in Australia, should be selected.
Pakistan has no dearth of talent and if we will promote and polish it, we have no doubt in saying that Pakistan can rank top in all the three formats.
