Directs rmy to render support to flood affectees

Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday called for more efforts to counter terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

This he said while presiding over the 250th Corps Commanders’ Conference which was held at General Headquarters, said a statement issued by the ISPR.

The conference was briefed in detail on the external and internal security situation with particular focus on the flood situation in the country and the ongoing relief operations being undertaken by the Army Formations.

Addressing the commanders, the Chief of the Army Staff directed formations to maintain operational readiness and efforts to counter terrorism particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan must continue.

The participants undertook comprehensive overview of the flood situation and ongoing relief and rescue operations by the Army. Expressing deep sorrow over loss of precious lives and extensive damage to infrastructure due to unprecedented rains and floods, the forum resolved to spare no effort for mitigating the sufferings of the flood affectees.

The Chief of the Army Staff appreciated the ongoing relief efforts and directed the Army Formations to render all possible support to the flood affectees.

“Every single affected individual must be reached to bring comfort in this hour of distress,” he said.
