Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) General Secretary Central Punjab Hammad Azhar blasted the important government for its failure to secure a deal with Russia for buying oil on discounted rate and continued to further burden the inflation-ridden masses with rising fuel prices.
In a statement issued from PTI Central Media Department (CMD) here on Thursday, he said that they also purchased far more oil than required at peak prices in June that has led to price rises at our pumps despite falling international prices.
Hammad Azhar quoted Bloomberg reports as confirming, “Russia has asked for help from Asian countries to discuss signing long-term contracts for the supply of Russian oil below market value.”
According to the agency, ‘Moscow is ready to provide potential buyers with a 30% discount, he added.—INP
